Leveraging the power of natural light and environmental photography, we strive to capture the inner and outer beauty of everyone we photograph. Portrait sessions with Wasson Photography are meant to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Instead of cheesy smiles or traditional poses, we strive to use minimal guidance and encourage natural poses and expressions. Each portrait session is composed of three parts.
As environmental portrait photographers, the great outdoors is our photo studio. We will carefully select a location best suited to meet your expectations and desires. In addition to relying on an assortment of great outdoor settings throughout the valley, locations around your neighborhood can also be used. We’ll even contemplate going outside of the Phoenix metro area to shoot within the state of Arizona or beyond.
Our main source of lighting also comes from the great outdoors—the sun. The two best times for portraits are either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The outdoor light during these two times periods is at its best, filling everything with a golden glow. We can schedule a portrait session outside of these two time periods, it’s just not our first choice.
The second part of our session is the actual portrait photography. We will meet at the selected location a little before the start of your session. This will give you a few minutes to check hair, wardrobe, and makeup. It’ll also give us chance to casually start photographing without feeling rushed.
Again, we use non-traditional portrait methods to capture the natural poses and expressions. No two sessions are alike as each session is custom tailored around you.
The third part of your session happens after the conclusion of the photography session. We will schedule a viewing and ordering session in your home two weeks later. This will give us the opportunity to carefully assist you in the enhancement of your own portrait collection. An online portrait gallery will also be made available prior to your home viewing session. This will give you a chance to start thinking about your choices.
Two weeks later, your prints will be ready for pick-up. Additional orders can be made either by you or relatives after this initial order has been processed.
